Our hope and prayer is that Florida Southern's campus ministries would serve as a home for a vibrant, faithful community. Whether it's our Sunday morning Chapel service, a Wednesday night Bible Study, a Tuesday night accountability group, or a Thursday night worship and coffee house, we hope that our campus ministries will serve as a home for anyone seeking to further their life of faith while in college.
Every year, we're joyful and excited to celebrate several baptisms within our community. Baptism is a bit of an initiation into the family of God; it is a sacrament of the church where God's grace is experienced in a physical way through the waters. FSC Chapel, led by United Methodist ministers, baptizes in three ways: immersion (as pictured), sprinkling, and pouring.
Every Sunday morning that school is in session, FSC Chapel worships together at 11am in Florida Southern's historic Annie Pfeiffer Chapel. Our worship is casual, come as you are, and filled with energy and joy. The music is led by a student worship band and vibrant preaching from Rev. Tim Wright, our college Chaplain.
Campus Ministries Retreat
Every year, the Chaplain's Office takes FSC students on a retreat full of community, games, worship, small groups, and food. The retreat is free for everyone, every year and is a great way to get to know others of faith, or even those curious about faith, within the FSC community. Keep up to date on Twitter and Facebook for when to sign up for next year's retreat!
We know that scriptural proclamation is central to the work of the church in worship. This is true at Florida Southern, too! Each Sunday morning our college chaplain, Rev. Tim Wright, preaches a compelling message that is both relevant to your life and reflective of the words we read in Scripture. Come hear the good news in refreshing, exciting ways as we grow together to be more of the people God wants us to be.
Our student worship band leads the students of Florida Southern every Sunday morning in singing. We sing exciting and new songs from all kinds of modern worship artists in addition to the beloved hymns generations before us have sung. We know that to be a disciple, one must be shaped by the words in worship and this includes the words we sing. Come worship with us in Spirit and Truth as we give praise to God through song for all God does for us.
Worship is so much more than the words we sing. It's so much more than the prayers we pray and the message and teaching we receive at church. Worship, as a whole, is what shapes us into the people God has intended for us to be. The best way we can follow Christ is to return to worship each week, to be shaped and defined. Come worship the Lord with us Sunday mornings at 11am in Florida Southern College's historic Annie Pfeiffer Chapel!
